Physioworks Director Andrew Dalwood recently undertook sports injury management educational research sessions at leading UK sports facilities.
Andrew visited the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton in South West London and Lords Cricket Ground in London for a tour of the sports medicine facilities.
The UK National Tennis Centre is the equivalent of the Australian Institute of Sport, but for tennis specifically. Its aim is the development and coaching of players as young as 8 years to the elite world ranked players.
The facility has a comprehensive injury management team with three full time physiotherapy staff, sports doctors, in house pools and multiple different surface courts for training. Players come regularlyfrom all over the UK for periods of intense coaching, living at the facility and being monitered in all aspects of their sports medicine program.
The team at Physioworks Health Group provide a range of services to elite athletes at the Australian Open Tennis, Tennis Australia and work with cricket teams including the Victorian Bushrangers and the Camberwell Magpies.
